Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, nights; schedule set by facility to total 36 hours per week (typically three 12-hour night shifts)

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for newborns in the NICU and nursery
- Perform neonatal assessments and manage monitoring equipment with precision
- Lead neonatal resuscitation efforts when needed and follow NRP protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the care team to develop and execute care plans
- Educate and support families about newborn care, feeding and safe discharge plans
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate changes in condition promptly
- Maintain a safe and clean clinical environment and adhere to infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (must be eligible to practice in Louisiana)
- NRP certification required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience working in a NICU or newborn nursery environment preferred
- Strong neonatal assessment and monitoring skills with attention to detail
- Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks for travel assignments
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or BSN)
- Active RN license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization skills
- Familiarity with NICU and nursery standards of care
- Proficiency with vital sign and neonatal monitoring equipment
- Excellent clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
- Clear, compassionate communication with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Accurate charting and documentation in electronic medical records
