Roles & Responsibilities
- Start and maintain IVs with confidence and care, delivering efficient IV therapy for outpatient procedures
- Perform phlebotomy and blood draws accurately while ensuring patient comfort
- Administer medications and document administration according to policy
- Monitor and record vital signs, assess patient status, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Provide wound care, assist with sterile setup, and support vascular procedures when needed
- Chart thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to keep patient records current and clear
- Float to the Urology clinic in the same building as needed, collaborating seamlessly with that team
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and post-care instructions to promote recovery and safety
- Maintain infection control, biohazard disposal, and a safe clinical environment
Qualifications
- Active California LVN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years outpatient clinic experience; acute care experience within the past 5 years
- BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- IV certification with proven proficiency in IV starts
- Proficiency with blood draws / phlebotomy
- Epic charting experience required
- Willingness to float to the Urology clinic in the same building
- Able to complete a 120-hour orientation
Education
- Vocational Nursing diploma or equivalent (LVN program graduate)

- IV therapy and venipuncture techniques
- Medication administration and reconciliation
- Wound care and wound vac familiarity
- Vital sign monitoring and basic patient assessment
- Epic electronic charting and clear clinical documentation
- Sterile setup and assistance for vascular procedures
- Oxygen administration and basic respiratory supports
- Infection control and safe biohazard disposal practices
- Strong communication and patient education skills
