Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans that make a real difference
- Deliver individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when urgent needs arise
- Collaborate with correctional health staff and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Document clinical encounters clearly and timely to maintain continuity and compliance
- Support rehabilitation and reentry goals through strengths-based interventions
- Participate in staff training and case consultations to improve service quality
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist in good standing (state license required)
- Or a current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LMFT, or LPCC licensed in California
- Experience providing mental health services in institutional or community settings preferred
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility credentials
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist roles; or
- Master's degree (MSW, MA, or equivalent) for LCSW, LMFT, LPCC roles
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Comfortable providing individual and group psychotherapy
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment expertise
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices
- Familiarity with correctional mental health dynamics and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Strong documentation and electronic health record skills
