Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients quickly and confidently to prioritize care and improve outcomes
• Perform thorough patient assessments, obtain histories, and record vital signs
• Initiate immediate life-saving interventions independently when needed
• Process physician/provider orders accurately and ensure timely follow-up
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures with attention to safety
• Assist physicians with procedures and operate sophisticated clinical equipment
• Provide compassionate discharge teaching and follow-up instructions to patients and families
• Communicate effectively with pre-hospital providers and give appropriate orders when answering ambulance radio

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Room (ER) experience — required
• Active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications — required
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification — required
• Active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification — required
• Experience with Epic EMR and strong medication administration skills
• Med-Surg competency and current skills checklist (within 1 year) — required
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Candidates must be located outside the facility's 100-mile local radius (permanent address required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage best practices
• Rapid patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Life support and trauma protocols (BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
• Accurate processing of physician/provider orders and medication administration
• Comfort working with diverse patient populations in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication with multidisciplinary teams and pre-hospital providers
