Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based practices
- Develop individualized treatment plans that set clear, measurable goals
- Deliver skilled SLP therapy across settings with attention to safety and dignity
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to ensure coordinated care
- Document progress and provide clear, timely clinical notes and discharge summaries
- Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing at home
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning
Qualifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (or eligible for New Mexico licensure)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
- Experience evaluating and treating adult and/or pediatric communication and swallowing disorders
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in standardized and functional speech-language evaluations
- Dysphagia assessment and safe-swallowing strategies
- Treatment planning and progress monitoring
- Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) when indicated
- Proficient clinical documentation and charting practices
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Time management and caseload prioritization
- Comfortable educating and supporting families and caregivers

This is a travel contract position based in Belen, NM — a great home base for both quiet outdoor time and quick city escapes.
