Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering patient-centered care and therapeutic interventions
• Implement treatment plans under PT direction, including therapeutic exercise and functional training
• Monitor patient progress, document outcomes clearly and communicate changes to the care team
• Facilitate safe mobility, gait training, transfers and use of assistive devices
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe recovery strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
• Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment and uphold facility policies and compliance standards

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New Jersey or eligible to obtain NJ licensure
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program (associate degree or equivalent)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience in outpatient, rehab, or post-acute settings is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first approach
• Ability to work a seven-day coverage rotation as needed for the assignment

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program; graduation certificate required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility interventions
• Familiarity with modalities and adaptive equipment use
• Solid documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Good clinical judgment, safety-focused care, and infection control practices
• Team-oriented mindset with strong patient and family education abilities
