Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered overnight nursing care to residents at Windward Gardens
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and communicate changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to facility policy
- Document care clearly and timely in the medical record to support continuity
- Collaborate proactively with the interdisciplinary team to optimize resident outcomes
- Respond quickly and calmly to urgent situations and assist with transfer-of-care needs
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered LPN or RN license (appropriate for role) — valid in Maine or otherwise acceptable per facility
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Prior clinical experience in long-term care, med-surg, or related settings is preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts and support the team during critical evening hours
- Available for the full 14-week assignment (Dec 24, 2025 – Mar 28, 2026)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and observation skills
- Medication administration and careful documentation
- Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, and staff
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting best practices
- Time management, prioritization, and teamwork during busy overnight shifts
