Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in resident records
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention measures
• Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and emotional support to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA certification (state-approved) — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by the facility
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
• Comfortable assisting with physical care tasks and transferring residents
• Strong communication and compassionate bedside manner
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic vital signs monitoring and observation skills
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and safe resident handling
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and physician/nurse directions
