Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing team
• Take and record vital signs accurately and document findings in the resident record
• Provide friendly companionship and engage residents in social activities to support emotional well-being
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Comfort working overnight and supporting an older adult population
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or equivalent state-approved nursing assistant training

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
• Basic clinical skills: vitals, documentation, observation
• Familiarity with infection prevention and patient safety practices
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with residents
