Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care while floating across multiple units
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop timely, effective nursing plans
• Manage and monitor devices such as wound VACs and chest tubes with confidence
• Safely dispense and document medications using Pyxis and the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Prioritize patient safety and infection control while delivering compassionate care
• Adapt quickly to different unit workflows and maintain professional nursing attire
• Participate fully in unit orientation and ongoing competency training

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 2-10 years medical-surgical experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Experience with night shift work and floating between units
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound VACs, and chest tube care

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing and patient assessment
• Meditech electronic medical record documentation
• Medication administration workflows via Pyxis
• Wound VAC management and chest tube care
• Ability to float across Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and occasional CV units
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and teamwork on night shifts
• Familiarity with nurse-to-patient ratios and adapting to variable census
