Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care across medical and surgical units
• Float between assigned units to meet patient care needs and support staffing flexibility
• Perform thorough assessments, implement individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress
• Manage specialty equipment including wound VACs and chest tubes with confidence
• Utilize Meditech EMR and Pyxis for accurate medication administration and documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient throughput and handoffs
• Maintain professional standards, clean scrubs, and a patient-centered approach during night shifts
• Participate in orientation and ongoing cross-training to expand unit competency

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start date
• Registered Nurse (RN) with 2 to 10 years of clinical experience (minimum 2 years required)
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Demonstrated medical-surgical nursing experience and prior float pool work
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and adapting to variable nurse-to-patient ratios
• Must provide documented proof of immunity; medical or religious exemption requests will not be accepted

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech EMR proficiency for charting and orders
• Experience with Pyxis medication systems
• Wound VAC management and chest tube care
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
• Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary staff
• Flexibility to float between Medical, Laulima, and occasional Cardiovascular units
