Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care across multiple units
• Safely manage and troubleshoot wound VACs and chest tubes as required
• Use Meditech EMR and Pyxis for accurate documentation and medication administration
• Float between units to meet patient care needs while maintaining unit standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
• Teach and support patients and families through recovery and discharge planning
• Adhere to professional nursing attire and unit policies while modeling excellent bedside manners

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC preferred
• 2-10 years of nursing experience in medical-surgical settings preferred
• Documented proof of immunity/vaccination required (no medical or religious exemptions accepted in lieu of proof)
• Ability to float between medical, surgical, and occasional cardiovascular units

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surgical nursing fundamentals and patient assessment skills
• Experience with Meditech EMR for charting and orders
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication systems and safe med administration
• Hands-on experience with wound VAC therapy and chest tube care
• Comfort working in a float pool model and adapting to different unit workflows
• Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills
