Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to residents and patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Assess patient conditions, document findings, and communicate changes
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams for care plans
- Educate patients and families on care needs, medications, and follow-up
- Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect the unit
Qualifications
- Current LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Maryland or ability to obtain one quickly
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfort with medication administration, wound care, and basic assessments
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Previous long-term care, rehab, or acute care experience preferred but willing to consider motivated clinicians
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Associate degree, diploma, or equivalent clinical training for practical nursing
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical observation skills
- Medication administration and documentation practices
- Familiarity with electronic charting and basic computer skills
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
- Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
