Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality outpatient OBGYN nursing care as an LVN, focusing on patient comfort and safety
• Perform IV therapy and proficient blood draws for diagnostics and treatment
• Support and assist with OBGYN procedures such as PAP, Coplo, Leep, D&C, EMB, IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon and NST
• Administer vaccines and medications (IM & SQ) and accurately document administration in Epic
• Triage patient concerns via telephone and in-clinic, escalating when appropriate
• Educate patients on procedures, test results, medication reconciliation and follow-up care
• Collect and label specimens, interpret lab results collaboratively with providers, and maintain isolation precautions
• Chart comprehensively and efficiently in Epic to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Valid CA nursing license required (as listed in job requirements)
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with at least 3 years of LVN experience in outpatient/urgent care or applicable L&D + outpatient clinic experience
• BLS certification (AHS or ARC) required
• IV/Blood Draw Certification and demonstrated proficiency with phlebotomy
• Epic charting experience required
• Flu vaccination required (no declinations or exemptions)
• Preferred: Phlebotomy Certified and IV Certified; experience with PAP, Leep, D&C, EMB, IUD procedures, Nexplanon and NST

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Epic documentation skills and electronic charting accuracy
• Clinical skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, vaccine administration and medication administration (IM & SQ)
• Familiarity with outpatient OBGYN procedures and women’s health workflows
• Telephone triage, medication reconciliation and follow-up coordination
• Specimen labeling and handling, infection control and isolation precautions
• Patient education, compassionate communication, and pain assessment & management
