Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care on a long term care unit
• Perform thorough assessments and document changes using PointClickCare (PCC)
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately during night shifts
• Serve as charge nurse for your unit when assigned, coordinating care and staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and follow care plans
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge-related tasks as needed
• Support infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect residents

Qualifications

• Current LPN license or practical nursing credential (LPN)
• Minimum 2 years recent experience working in a long term care unit
• Experience using PointClickCare (PCC) or similar long term care EMR
• Comfortable with charge nurse responsibilities and unit leadership
• Ability to safely float between floors and manage a dynamic workload
• Up-to-date BLS/CPR certification as required by facility

Education

• Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent LPN training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of long term care nursing principles and best practices
• Proficient documentation skills in EMR systems, preferably PointClickCare
• Medication administration, wound care basics, and resident assessment
• Ability to prioritize tasks during night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
• Clear communication skills with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort with routine LTC reporting, transfers, and regulatory documentation
