Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in an acute care setting
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility policies and ACLS/BLS protocols
• Lead stroke assessments using NIHSS and initiate timely interventions when indicated
• Deliver trauma-informed care following TNCC principles for emergent situations
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary staff to drive excellent patient outcomes
• Complete required Trinity competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
• Maintain accurate licensure and complete mandated health screenings and immunizations

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa (or compact/state authorization as required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or must be obtained per facility policy
• License/Certificate Verification completed prior to start
• Current fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap) or acceptable titers
• Two-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-Spot) on file
• Physical/health statement and Trinity color vision check
• Prior acute care or emergency/trauma experience preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure and required certifications as listed

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in stroke assessment and management (NIHSS)
• Trauma assessment skills aligned with TNCC
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity situations
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients and clinical teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Excellent infection prevention and safety practices
