Shift Type: Rotating shifts: 2 x 12-hour shifts and 2 x 8-hour shifts per week (total 40 hours); exact start/end times vary by facility, schedule includes weekends and requires flexible availability

Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding and mobility
- Support safe patient transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Check, record and report vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) under RN/LPN supervision
- Perform wound observation and basic assessments, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Assist with medications and supplements as directed and under appropriate supervision
- Maintain clean patient rooms and change linens to promote comfort and infection control
- Observe and document behavior and mood changes; communicate concerns to the care team
- Answer patient calls and respond to needs with professionalism, dignity and empathy
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification and active Michigan license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Long Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Med-Surg — required
- BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross — required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical & religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
- Previous travel/contract experience preferred and required for this travel assignment
- Completed skills checklist within 1 year of submission and available references
- Ability to complete MI iCHAT fingerprinting (agency must have active iCHAT account)
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
- Vital signs monitoring and documentation under nurse supervision
- Basic wound assessment and reporting of changes
- Safe patient transfer techniques and ambulation assistance
- Feeding and dietary assistance, including following dietary restrictions
- Room care and linen management with attention to infection control
- Behavioral observation, documentation and clear communication with the care team
- Comfort working in LTC/SNF and med-surg environments with a flexible attitude
