Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized plans of care that move patients toward optimal health
• Provide hands-on bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders with clinical excellence
• Delegate and oversee nursing assistants and ancillary staff to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and adjust interventions based on patient response and evidence-based practice
• Lead and facilitate patient conferences and discharge/transfer planning to support smooth transitions of care
• Precept and mentor new hires and students, fostering professional growth and strong team performance
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required and must be active at submission
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience required
• Comfortable floating to the Emergency Department (ED) and Step-down units
• BLS (AHA), ACLS and NIHSS required (documented)
• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN are nice-to-have certifications (document if available)
• Travel nursing experience preferred; neurosurgical and open-heart experience a plus
• Strong leadership, delegation and clinical documentation skills (Cerner experience helpful)

Education

• Active RN license in Michigan (ADN or BSN preferred)

• Bedside nursing excellence with strong assessment and critical thinking
• Care plan evaluation and evidence-based practice integration
• Clinical documentation proficiency in Cerner EMR
• Team/clinical leadership, delegation and staffing coordination
• Patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication
• Precepting, mentoring and facilitating patient conferences
• Comfort managing high-acuity patients in ICU, with the ability to float to ED and step-down
