Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct Central Sterile Processing operations to ensure safe, efficient cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical and procedural instruments
• Lead, mentor, and supervise Central Sterile staff; build a strong team culture focused on safety and quality
• Manage inventory and material resources to keep surgical services supplied and running smoothly
• Develop and deliver staff education, retraining, and competency assessments to maintain high standards
• Collaborate with Infection Control, Risk Management, and Safety to enforce policies and meet accreditation standards
• Monitor and manage FDA/manufacturer recall notices facility-wide, ensuring proper distribution and follow-up
• Ensure accurate processing of patient charges and proper documentation for Central Sterile services
• Stay current with industry trends and implement emerging practices and technology where appropriate

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on sterile processing experience (required)
• 1+ year of supervisor/leader experience in a Central Sterile or similar environment (required)
• Active HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Strong communication and team-building skills, with experience leading change and fostering a Culture of Safety
• Basic computer skills and comfort using EMR systems (MediTech experience is a plus)
• Ability and willingness to float to units within scope of practice; local/close proximity to Lima, OH required

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of sterile processing, sterilization, disinfection, and instrument reprocessing
• Inventory management and tracking for procedural and surgical supplies
• Regulatory and accreditation standards for Central Sterile departments
• Experience managing recalls and coordinating with manufacturers/FDA
• Strong supervisory skills including scheduling, coaching, and performance management
• Infection control principles, risk management, and safety best practices
• Clear, professional communication with multidisciplinary teams and physicians
• Ability to deliver training, in-services, and competency assessments
