Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care before, during, and after angiography and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Perform pre-procedure assessments and administer pre-medication safely and confidently
• Monitor hemodynamics and calculate cardiac output to support critical decision-making
• Set up procedures, maintain sterile technique, and scrub cases as required
• Operate lifesaving equipment such as intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella when needed
• Document all procedural information accurately in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and follow-up care
• Assist Radiologic Technologists by circulating cases and preparing procedural supplies
• Transfer and prepare patients, stock supplies, and support basic unit operations

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys documentation required) - must be active
• Cath Lab experience - REQUIRED
• American Heart Association BLS - active certification required
• American Heart Association ACLS - active certification required
• Interventional Radiology experience - preferred
• Electrophysiology experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation - preferred
• Knowledge and operation of IABP and Impella - preferred
• Work history and current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to Cath Lab - required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years - required
• Candidates' permanent address required (facility will not consider local candidates within a 50-mile radius)

• Scrubbing cases and circulating in the cath lab/IR suite

• Familiarity with Epic EMR and routine unit workflows
• Ability to float to other units and adapt to varying patient populations
