Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day shift, 40 hrs/week with a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts (specific start times vary). On-call rotation: 6-7 call shifts/month — every 4th or 5th weekend includes Friday afternoon until Monday, 6:30 AM; individual on-call nights typically 5:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Rotating (day with on-call nights/weekends).
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and provide expert sterile technique for orthopedic total joint cases, gynecologic procedures (including C-sections), urology, general surgery and sports medicine spine procedures
- Prepare, operate and maintain perioperative instrumentation and equipment with precision
- Perform accurate surgical counts and document them consistently to ensure patient safety
- Support Trauma Level III operations and respond effectively during on-call shifts and emergencies
- Document procedures and patient care in Cerner EMR in a timely, professional manner
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses and the perioperative team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care across pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations
- Participate in orientation and ongoing competency checks to keep skills sharp and current
Qualifications
- NH Med Tech license required (may apply after offer acceptance)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / experienced scrub—minimum 2 years current CST/scrub experience required
- Active American Heart Association BLS required (must provide documentation)
- NBSTSA certification highly preferred but not required (candidates with NBSTSA given first consideration)
- Proficiency in orthopedic total joints, GYN (including C-sections), urology, general surgery and sports medicine spine — please reflect these skills in your work history
- Traveler must have own vehicle and include permanent address in submission; NO LOCALS — permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility
- Willingness to work on-call shifts, weekends and occasional extended weekend coverage
Knowledge & Skills
- Surgical technologist (scrub) skills and sterile technique
- Perioperative instrumentation setup and management
- Surgical counts and OR safety protocols
- Experience scrubbing for orthopedic, gynecology, urology, general and spine procedures
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR for perioperative documentation
- Ability to provide care across pediatric through geriatric populations
- Comfort working in a Trauma Level III surgical environment
