Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, includes 4 weekend shifts per schedule (day shift focus)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, family-centered pediatric nursing care for a 38-bed unit, maintaining patient ratios typically around 1:4
- Perform respiratory care and manage complex airway and ventilatory needs as appropriate
- Provide central line care and adhere to strict infection prevention practices
- Manage G-tube and NG tube needs, including feeding and tube maintenance
- Support preoperative and postoperative care for pediatric patients, ensuring safe transitions
- Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR to maintain continuity and quality
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Serve as a reliable, professional presence during assigned shifts, including weekend coverage
Qualifications
- Valid Texas RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- PALS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (experience listed as 1 year)
- Pediatric nursing experience and comfort with pediatric patient ratios of about 1-4
- Experience with Meditech or other EMR systems preferred
- APHON Chemo Certification and prior work in PICU, NICU, CICU, or Pediatric Oncology are nice to have
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong pediatric assessment and clinical decision making
- Meditech EMR proficiency for accurate charting
- Respiratory care knowledge including basic ventilator/airway support
- Central line maintenance and dressing change competency
- G-tube and NG tube management skills
- Preoperative and postoperative pediatric care
- Excellent communication with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced children’s hospital environment
