Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with nightly on-call 4:00 PM - 8:00 AM and 24-hour weekend call coverage; rotating day & night on-call schedule (approximately 10 call days/month, covers two weekends; call ratio 1:3).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient and ICU post-op care and rounds, focusing on adult and geriatric patients
• Perform clinical procedures such as suture removal and thorough pre-op physical exams
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses promptly and confidently
• Order, review and interpret diagnostic tests to guide patient care decisions
• Prescribe medications within your prescriptive authority and manage medication plans
• Coordinate care across the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth transitions and follow-up
• Document all patient encounters and plans clearly and efficiently in EPIC
• Participate in on-call coverage, triage urgent issues, and collaborate with supervising physicians who round daily

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner credentials (NP) and ability to obtain privileges at Mercy St. Vincent, St. Anne, St. Charles and Perrysburg
• Prescriptive authority consistent with state rules and facility expectations
• Experience in inpatient care, ICU care and post-op management (experience with adult/geriatric populations preferred)
• Comfort with autonomous practice and independent decision-making while collaborating with supervising physicians
• Familiarity with EPIC for documentation and order entry
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations (approximately 10 call days/month, 1:3 call ratio)
• Clean credentialing file or ability to provide required documentation in a timely manner

Knowledge & Skills

• EPIC electronic medical record proficiency for documentation and orders
• Clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning for inpatient and ICU settings
• Procedural skill with suture removal and other common post-op care tasks
• Ability to order and interpret labs and imaging to guide treatment plans
• Strong rounding and coordination-of-care abilities across multidisciplinary teams
• Effective clinical documentation and communication skills
• Comfort managing a daily patient census (average ~12 patients/day) and prioritizing critical needs
