Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients during overnight hours
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, escalating concerns promptly
• Document care in the patient's chart with clarity and professionalism
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and therapy teams to support patient outcomes
• Support admissions, discharges, and care transitions to keep the unit running smoothly
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) as applicable in New Mexico
• Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to work overnight shifts and manage overnight patient needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program appropriate to licensure (practical/vocational nursing program, associate degree, or BSN depending on license level)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Medication administration and documentation accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients overnight
• Familiarity with basic electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-focused attitude
