Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for patients in the assigned area
• Assess patient condition, monitor vitals, and report changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Support patient and family education with clear, reassuring communication
• Participate in shift handoffs and unit tasks to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license (eligible to practice in New Mexico) — required
• Graduation from an accredited LPN or RN nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as required by unit
• Prior clinical experience preferred; new grads may be considered depending on facility need
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and teamwork skills
• Current immunizations and background checks per facility policy

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse program
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma for RNs

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental nursing assessment and clinical care skills for adult patients
• Medication administration and IV/infusion familiarity as applicable
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in busy environments
• Proficient documentation practices and electronic health record use
• Patient-centered communication and family education techniques
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety standards
