Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during night shifts
• Perform timely assessments and communicate changes in condition to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the chart
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and follow care plans
• Support patient and family education with clarity and empathy
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes as needed
• Maintain high standards of infection control and safety during all procedures

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license in the state of practice (New Mexico) or appropriate compact/multi-state privileges where applicable
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; other certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred if available
• Prior acute care or rehab experience preferred but motivated new grads may be considered
• Strong clinical judgment, reliable documentation, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work full 12-hour night shifts and collaborate with a diverse care team

Education

• LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or certificate
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring during overnight hours
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
• Basic wound care, IV site observation, and post-op monitoring (as applicable)
• Prioritization skills and ability to act calmly in urgent situations
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
