Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients regularly and prioritize care based on clinical need
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status, intervene when changes occur, and escalate appropriately
• Document skilled care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and promoting best practices

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license (eligible to practice in New Mexico)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications preferred
• Comfort with night shift responsibilities and independent clinical decision-making
• Travel nursing experience is a plus but welcoming to confident new travelers
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-based environment

Education

• LPN: Completed practical nursing program (diploma or certificate)
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical observation
• Safe medication administration and documentation
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems
• Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and time management
• Professional bedside manner and patient-centered care
