Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients in the unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor and document patient condition, vital signs, and responses to care
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly with families
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers to ensure smooth transitions
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and complete required documentation in a timely manner
• Adhere to facility policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Mexico licensure required or eligible)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred; facility may require updated certifications
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and managing patient care during high-acuity periods
• Professional, empathetic communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Previous clinical experience in acute care, rehab, or a related setting is a plus

Education

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing or registered nursing program (LPN diploma or RN degree as applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Medication administration and accurate documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and charting
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management
• Ability to perform basic wound care and support rehabilitation activities when needed
• Situational awareness and adherence to safety and infection control practices
