Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
• Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Monitor and report changes in patient status to the care team promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
• Perform timely and thorough patient charting using the facility EMR
• Support patients and families with education and emotional care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (or compact license where applicable)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable preferred
• Prior experience in acute care or med-surg settings preferred
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass facility background check and drug screen
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy

Education

• LPN: Vocational diploma or certificate and state licensure
• RN: ADN or BSN (BSN preferred by some facilities) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment during overnight shifts
• Medication administration, IV therapy knowledge (as applicable)
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to triage changes and escalate appropriately
• Time management, prioritization, and multitasking in a fast-paced setting
• Compassionate patient and family communication
