Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to rehab patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with therapists and physicians to support individualized rehab plans
- Document clinical observations and interventions clearly in the medical record
- Support safe patient transfers, mobility programs, and fall-prevention efforts
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge goals
Qualifications
- Current, active LPN or RN license (must be valid in New Mexico)
- Minimum clinical experience in medical-surgical or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — obtain or maintain as required by facility
- Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with medication administration
- Dependable, professional attitude and ability to work independently on night shift
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (or equivalent)
- RN: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN/BSN) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in medication administration, wound care, and patient assessments
- Experience with rehab-focused care: mobility support, ADL assistance, and fall prevention
- Proficient documentation skills and basic EMR familiarity
- Effective communicator with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Critical thinking, time management, and the ability to prioritize in a busy setting
