Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults and/or seniors in the assigned unit
- Perform thorough assessments and document patient status, changes, and interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and follow individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical record documentation
- Respond to acute changes and assist in emergency interventions as needed
- Promote infection control practices and maintain a safe, respectful environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure (RN preferred); must be valid for New Mexico or eligible for state licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Clinical experience in acute care, rehab, or similar settings preferred
- Ability to work 12+ hour day shifts and adapt to travel assignment rhythms
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a team-first attitude
- Up-to-date immunizations and required health screenings as per facility policy
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN diploma or ADN/BSN for RNs as appropriate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and care planning with clinical judgment
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Basic wound care, mobility assistance, and ADL support
- Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management, prioritization, and the ability to work in fast-paced settings
