Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in an acute rehab setting
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and report changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and discharge readiness
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate critical information clearly

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (or eligible for licensure)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred for RNs
• Prior acute care or rehabilitation nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN diploma or RN AD/BSN as applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, and medication administration
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care accurately
• Knowledge of rehab nursing principles and mobility/safety techniques
• Strong communication skills for effective patient/family education and team collaboration
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
