Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Uptown Health/Rehab area
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and safe discharge planning
- Monitor patient status and escalate changes in condition to providers promptly
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in New Mexico
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged where applicable
- Previous experience in med-surg, rehab, or similar inpatient settings preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing or registered nursing program (diploma or associate degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in medication administration, wound care, and patient assessment
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting accurate charting
- Skilled at collaborating with physicians, therapists, and support staff
- Able to prioritize tasks in a busy inpatient environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledgeable about infection prevention and patient safety practices
