Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Uptown Health/Rehab area
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and safe discharge planning
• Monitor patient status and escalate changes in condition to providers promptly
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged where applicable
• Previous experience in med-surg, rehab, or similar inpatient settings preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing or registered nursing program (diploma or associate degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in medication administration, wound care, and patient assessment
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting accurate charting
• Skilled at collaborating with physicians, therapists, and support staff
• Able to prioritize tasks in a busy inpatient environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledgeable about infection prevention and patient safety practices
