Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults and elders during night shifts
• Perform accurate assessments, monitor patient status, and act promptly on changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document according to policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate plans of care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers to keep flow moving smoothly
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and families in a clear, respectful manner to support recovery

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in New Mexico (or compact license where applicable)
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications welcomed
• Prior acute care or med-surg experience preferred but motivated new grads may be considered
• Strong clinical judgment, reliable communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and documentation skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
• Ability to prioritize and respond effectively during high-acuity situations
• Comfort working independently during night hours and collaborating with on-call teams
• Good time management, charting accuracy, and patient education skills
