Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care including assessments and bedside nursing with compassion and accuracy
• Administer medications and treatments per policy and document care clearly in the electronic medical record
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team promptly
• Support smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges to keep patient flow moving
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and support staff to create and execute effective care plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up instructions to promote recovery and safety
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current and active LPN license in New Mexico or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as applicable or preferred depending on unit
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Clinical experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills and a great attitude are welcome to apply
• Strong communication skills and comfort working on a fast-paced care team

Education

• LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent program completed
• RN applicants (if applicable): Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Proficient in medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
• Wound care, basic nursing procedures, and comfort with ADL assistance
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and collaborate across disciplines
• Professional bedside manner and effective patient/family education techniques
