Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care while following plan of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and report changes promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate care
• Document patient status and interventions clearly in the chart
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and follow-up
• Contribute to quality improvement and unit safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in New Mexico (LPN) or current RN license if applying as RN
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain quickly
• Previous clinical experience in acute or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Valid, up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required screenings
• Professional, patient-centered attitude and strong teamwork skills

Education

• LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• RN applicants: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of patient assessment and nursing fundamentals
• Medication administration and documentation accuracy
• Wound care and routine nursing treatments
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and care-planning tools
• Strong communication and patient/family education skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage time during busy shifts
