Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside nursing care to patients, ensuring comfort and dignity
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per facility protocols
- Monitor patient status, document changes, and report concerns to the care team promptly
- Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility to support recovery
- Collaborate with RNs, therapists, and physicians to create and follow individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and uphold regulatory and facility standards
Qualifications
- Valid LPN/LVN license (eligible to practice in New Mexico or able to obtain state authorization)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and adapting to facility routines
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented, patient-first mindset
- Previous long-term care or rehab experience is a plus but not mandatory
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN) program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Wound care basics and attention to skin integrity
- Vital signs monitoring and early recognition of patient decline
- Safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
- Electronic health record familiarity and accurate charting
- Infection control principles and safe clinical practice
