Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe nursing care to patients during the overnight shift
• Perform timely patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following policy and scope of practice
• Document care thoroughly in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery goals
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers to maintain unit flow
• Support a positive patient experience by educating patients and families with empathy

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Mexico (required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or PALS if applicable and available
• Active clinical skills appropriate to LPN or RN practice (medication administration, assessments, documentation)
• Ability to work overnight shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Professional, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills

Education

• LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent and active LPN license
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and bedside nursing care with attention to detail
• Accurate medication administration and documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and clinical charting
• Basic wound care, IV site observation, and infection control principles
• Prioritization, time management, and teamwork during busy overnight hours
