Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients on your unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes clearly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized care plans
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse) — must be in good standing; New Mexico licensure or eligibility preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Clinical experience in acute care, rehab, or similar settings preferred
• Ability to work overnight shifts and manage a fast-paced caseload with confidence
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach

Education

• LPN: Vocational/Practical Nursing certificate or diploma
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medication administration and basic nursing procedures
• Proficient in patient assessment, vital signs, and documentation
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and bedside charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle emergencies, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Team-oriented mindset and comfort working with interdisciplinary teams
