Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for rehab and acute patients
• Perform thorough assessments and develop timely care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the medical record
• Support patient mobility and rehabilitation activities with safety-first techniques
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in shift handoffs, rounds and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards and infection control

Qualifications

• Active RN license for New Mexico (or compact RN license as applicable)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS if specified by facility
• Experience in rehab, med-surg or related acute care settings preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration and documentation skills

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) for RN
• LPN candidates should hold a vocational nursing diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and developing prioritized care plans
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Knowledge of rehab nursing practices, mobility assistance and fall prevention
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail
