Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and support patients through daily routines
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor patient status, perform assessments, and report changes to the care team
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and handoffs
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and providers to deliver coordinated care
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Promote a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and communicating respectfully
Qualifications
- Current and active LPN or RN license in New Mexico (must have one or the other to apply)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable preferred
- Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Healthcare experience preferred; prior med-surg, rehab, or acute care experience is a plus
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program for Licensed Practical Nurses
- Graduate of an accredited ADN/BSN program for Registered Nurses
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and bedside care done with accuracy and empathy
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Wound care, IV familiarity (as applicable to licensure/scope), and treatment setup
- Electronic medical record (EMR) navigation and clear charting
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Teamwork, clear communication, and patient-focused problem solving
