Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the assigned unit
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policy
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the electronic record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and follow patient-centered plans
- Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license or Licensed Practical Nurse license for New Mexico (state licensure required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
- Clinical nursing experience preferred; travel/contract experience a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to follow facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN diploma, ADN, or BSN as applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of patient assessment and nursing process
- Medication administration and monitoring for adverse effects
- Skilled in basic wound care and vital sign monitoring
- Experience with electronic medical record documentation
- Prioritization, time management, and critical thinking in fast-paced settings
- Patient education and compassionate bedside manner
