Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and compassionately to prioritize care
• Perform advanced clinical procedures including U/S-guided IVs and IO insertion
• Provide trauma, stroke, cardiac and acute medical care in a fast-paced ED
• Administer medications and manage infusions using Alaris pumps and Pyxis
• Obtain and interpret EKGs and communicate critical findings to the team
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Sunrise/Allscripts EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate patient flow
• Follow evidence-based protocols and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (eligible to practice in NH)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience (required for contract labor)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications (required for contract labor)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work rotating schedules including every other weekend
• Comfortable with trauma, cardiac, stroke care and diverse patient populations

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable using Sunrise/Allscripts EMR for charting and orders
• Proficient with Alaris pumps, Pyxis medication systems, Lucas Device and Hotline Rapid Infuser
• Skilled in EKG acquisition and interpretation
• Experienced with U/S-guided IV insertion and IO insertion
• Solid understanding of medical terminology and protocol-driven care
• Ability to manage patient ratios around 4:1 with flexibility during surges
