Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, direct patient care in the rehab setting, tailoring interventions to each patient’s recovery goals
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, adhering to facility protocols
• Monitor and record patient status, vital signs, and progress, communicating changes to the care team
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and support staff to coordinate effective care plans
• Perform wound care, IV management, and other clinical procedures as appropriate to scope of practice
• Educate patients and families on condition management, discharge planning, and follow-up care
• Document thoroughly and timely in the electronic medical record to support continuity of care
• Champion patient safety and quality improvement initiatives on your unit

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (eligible to practice in New Mexico)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (maintain per facility requirements)
• Experience caring for adult patients in a rehab/long-term/post-acute setting is preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN for RN)
• For LPN candidates: completion of an accredited practical nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals, medication safety, and patient assessment
• Comfort with rehab care principles: mobility assistance, restorative nursing, and therapy collaboration
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
