Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and assessment to patients with respiratory insufficiencies and acute pulmonary conditions
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators including Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral models to optimize patient ventilation
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results to guide therapy
• Deliver non-invasive ventilation including CPAP and BiPAP and administer nebulizer treatments
• Perform chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other respiratory procedures to improve patient outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate critical changes promptly

Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Proficiency in ventilator management, ABG analysis, CPAP/BiPAP and nebulizer therapy
• Trauma experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Team player with strong critical thinking, patient-focus and collaboration skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree or equivalent) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced ventilator management and modes (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral)
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Non-invasive ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP) and nebulizer therapy
• Chest physiotherapy (CPT) techniques
• Critical care patient assessment and monitoring
• Experience working in busy acute care/critical care settings
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation
