Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients
• Perform focused assessments and monitor patients closely, escalating changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate patient plans
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and successful transitions
• Respond effectively to emergencies and assist with rapid interventions as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be eligible to practice in Kentucky)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (PCU or progressive care experience preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to work 7:00 PM - 1:00 PM shift patterns and adapt to rotating schedules
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) clinical skills and familiarity with higher-acuity monitoring
• Patient assessment and care plan implementation
• Medication administration and IV management
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
• Accurate electronic charting and documentation practices
