Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive clinical laboratory testing across Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank
- Operate and maintain core lab instrumentation such as Cobas Pro, Sysmex XN, ACL TOPS, Arkray, Iris and Clinitech with accuracy and care
- Process and verify patient specimens and results in the EMR system (Meditech) to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Participate in quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting to maintain lab standards and patient safety
- Communicate critical results promptly to clinical teams and contribute to a collaborative patient-care environment
- Assist with phlebotomy-related tasks and support unit workflows during peak volumes or staffing needs
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Medical Technologist license required
- ASCP certification preferred; AMT acceptable if applicable
- Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience as highlighted in the posting
- Hands-on experience with Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Blood Bank
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and core lab instruments listed above
- Ability to float to Microbiology and Blood Bank and work effectively as part of a multi-discipline lab team

- Proficient in hematology techniques and whole blood testing
- Knowledge of coagulation procedures and interpretation
- Strong clinical chemistry and urinalysis skills
- Experience with microbiology workflows and blood bank practices
- Comfortable with phlebotomy procedures and specimen handling
- Instrument troubleshooting and routine maintenance experience
- Familiar with Meditech EMR for result entry and documentation
- Attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork skills
