Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor critically ill patients closely and respond to changes in condition with urgency and skill
• Perform acute care procedures such as intubation support, chest tube management, and code resuscitation
• Lead and coordinate care during STEMI and stroke protocols to improve patient outcomes
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech Expanse
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, and support staff to develop and execute care plans
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and communicate clearly with families during high-stress situations
• Support unit flow and safety by adhering to unit policies, equipment checks, and infection control practices
• Step into charge/lead roles when needed, using strong critical thinking and multitasking skills

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) in the United States
• Minimum 3+ years recent ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Proven experience with patient monitoring and acute care procedures (codes, intubation, chest tubes)
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar EMR systems
• Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
• Charge nurse or leadership experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care best practices
• Advanced patient monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
• Acute care procedures including intubation, chest tube management, and code response
• Experience with Meditech Expanse for documentation and charting
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and manage heavy workloads in a 12-hour shift environment
• Team collaboration, patient advocacy, and clear family communication
• Familiarity with STEMI and stroke protocols
