Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in the NICU
• Continuously assess and monitor infants’ vital signs and clinical status
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and respiratory support per protocols
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the family to create and follow individualized care plans
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in the patient record
• Support and educate families during stressful moments with clear, empathetic communication
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions to home or step-down care
• Maintain strict infection control and safety standards to protect our tiniest patients

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Texas (TX) or active compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience (per job requirements)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) strongly preferred or required
• Active clinical skills in neonatal assessment, ventilator/CPAP support, IV/med administration
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong teamwork, communication, and family-centered care skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of neonatal physiology and developmental care
• Skill with neonatal ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen management
• Proficient in medication administration and infusion management for neonates
• Familiarity with neonatal monitoring equipment and accurate interpretation of data
• Comfortable with family education, discharge teaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Competent documentation skills in electronic health records
