Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered pediatric nursing care for a diverse patient population
• Perform respiratory care, central line care, GTUBE/NG tube management and drain care with attention to safety and infection prevention
• Deliver thorough preoperative and postoperative nursing care and monitoring
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions with empathy and clarity
• Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition using PALS and BLS protocols

Qualifications

• Valid Texas RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• APHON Chemo Certification is a plus
• Comfortable working night rotations and weekend shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with respiratory care and airway management
• Proficient in central line care and GTUBE/NG tube management
• Familiarity with preop/postop pediatric care and monitoring
• Good communication skills with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric settings with a 1:4 patient ratio
